Chicago had it's most deadliest day since 1991, according to the Chicago crime lab.
With over 18 people killed the day broke the previous record of 13 murders in a 24 hour period. Even worse, the murders took place during the Black Lives Matter protest which ironically, gives many racists a reason to say Black Lives don't matter to Black people.
'We’ve never seen anything like it, at all,' Max Kapustin, Crime Lab senior research director told the Chicago Sun-Times of the number of fatal shootings on May 31.
Chicago continues to embarrass the Black community as gang violence never takes a day off. Chicago is the city that racist point to whenever they want to make Black people look like animals that function in society. Although there are citizens of Chicago that absolutely despise the gang violence and bad image that it gives the city, I can not help but point out that for some reason there are those who love the gang culture and embrace the word "Chiraq" as if being compared to Iraq in wartime is a badge of honor.
Chicago has been called "Chiraq" for far too long, and it is a shame that a city with some much history and prestige has sunken this low. Being labeled Chiraq is nothing to be proud of and it is even more embarrassing that I would even have to state so.
According to Newsweek, Candace Owens launched a fundraising campaign on the website on Saturday to raise money for Michael Dykes. He is a bar owner in Alabama that called George Floyd a thug and criticized protesters calling for justice for Floyd.
Gofundme has removed Owens campaign which had raised $200,000 after repeated inflammatory remarks that they say have spread hate and falsehoods about the Black community.
[GoFundMe Removes Candace Owens' Campaign for Bar Owner Who Called George Floyd a 'Thug']
Of course, due to the fact that George Floyd's death was an obvious murder by the hands of White police officer she cannot pretend as if the cops actions were justifiable. However, Owens is getting paid to be a Black representative White supremacy. So what does Owens decide to do, she moved the subject away from George Floyd being murdered to George Floyd being a thug.
Although I don't usually agree with people being removed from any platform or banned from any online page due to their political views or opinions, I must say that Owens is somebody that I don't care to see make any money off of her constant cooning and her promotion of Black hate.
The right-wing conspiracy site, properly titled conspiracy.news, has made the claim that medical experiments are killing Black people. In the article, the writer states that Black people are taking the bait by believing in the threat of White supremacy to be real. The article also labels Black awareness groups such as Black Lives Matter as a terrorist group.
The article also lists Planned Parenthood as a means to kill black babies. While I may agree with some of the points that the writer made, I disagree with the notion that white supremacists are not a threat to the black community. A growing number of white supremacy groups are spreading throughout the U.S.A ,and have armed themselves preparing for a race war.
I don't see black extremist groups arming themselves. In fact, most black people in America know that we are out-numbered and trying to have a shootout would only lead to blacks being slaughtered. It's the white extremist groups that are forming militias, practicing at the gun range and just praying for the day that they get to "kill a nigger".
Although the conspiracy news article is riddled with quite a bit of propaganda, still there is some truth written here.
Tennesee GOV. Bill Lee signs a proclamation honoring early KKK member
Nathan Bedford Forrest. Despite backlash from the controversy, GOV. Bill Lee moved forward with the Proclamation, dubbing it "Nathan Bedford Forrest Day"
which caused Sen. Ted Cruz to tweet, "This Is Wrong".
Nathan Bedford Forrest was not only a member of the KKK but he was the first Grand Wizard and slave trader.
Most people are unaware that Tennessee is where the KKK was founded.
See reference below:
Rep. Steve Cohen Tweeted this response.
"We should not be honoring Nathan Bedford Forrest, the first Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan and the perpetrator of the massacre at Fort Pillow. Gov. Lee should be bringing #Tennessee into the 21st century not backsliding into the 19th."
Tennessee has a long history of racism in its state and some Black people have claimed there are some areas that a Black person can't even drive through at night. The fact that the Governor of Tennessee would sign a proclamation honoring this racist scumbag is not only appalling but it says a lot about the state of Tennessee.
It seems as if the Black vote has become the key to the White House again. Trump proved in 2016, he did not need the Black vote or any other minorities to be real about it. Trump proved that all he needs is a bunch of pissed off White people, that feel like Obama was the worst thing that happened to White America.
Hillary Clinton loss the 2016, election because she was not able to click with Black people. Joe Biden has been put on the hot seat for his vote on busing in the '70s. Mayor Pete Buttigieg made an appearance at "Essence Festival" where he spoke on many issues concerning the Black Community. Mayor Pete Buttigieg is still trying to recover from the backlash coming from the Black community after a police officer shot a Black man without having his body cam on.
It has become clear that Republican candidates don't need the Black vote but the Democrats not only need the Black vote but they live and die by it.
U.S Senator and Presidential Candidate Kamala Harris has come under fire lately after she called out former Vice President Joe Biden during the Democratic Debates.
But she is not being criticized so much by the right-wing conservatives or even White Nationalists for that matter. Kamla Harris's worst critics have come from the Black community.
Harris has been called out online by a number of Black people for her record as a state prosecutor in California. Many have claimed that she has put her fair share of Black men in prison. To be fair to Kamala Harris she was a prosecutor and her job was to find evidence and present it to the courts. The Black community is unforgiving in this matter and have labeled Harris a sell-out.
Oddly enough, many political pundits are praising Harris as the winner of the first debate. Some pundits actually believe Kamala Harris can be a viable opponent to take on front runner Joe Biden. However, losing the Black community is not going to bode well for Kamala Harris and the more people dig into her background, Harris may end up more on the defensive than she originally planned to be.
Presidential Candidate Pete Buttigieg faces issues in the Black community after a White police officer shot and killed a Black man that was allegedly holding a knife but the police officers body camera was not on so no one can verify if the person killed actually had a knife or not. Black people were in an uproar last week. Mayor Buttigeg was interrupted while speaking at a forum by angry citizens who some yelling that there is racist police officer in the department.
“ We have tried but not succeeded in bringing diversity into our police department and we need help.” Mayor Pete Buttigeg said.
The Mayor's statement was met with mixed reaction by the mostly Black crowd at the forum. The people voicing their concerns were very matter of fact about there being racists in the city's police department while Mayor Buttigieg seems to suggest that the racists need to be sought out.
“If anyone that is on patrol shown to be a racist or to do something racist in a way that is substantiated, then it will be his last day on the street.” - Mayor Buttigieg.
The timing of this is not good for the 2020 Presidential hopeful who has been seen as a pretty squeaky clean candidate up until now.
Before the racists get a chance to attack this message, let me just say that most of the school shootings are committed by White students. Secondly, these Black students have a reason to fear teachers being armed. Teachers are not trained police officers and lack the ability to implement the use of force. It is even fair to say that a good number of police officers lack the ability to implement the use of force.
I am in favor of increased law enforcement presence in the schools but armed teachers is just a step too far.
